Montafon

Ein ähnliches Exponat behandelt das Montafon – aufgezeigt wird durch die Autorin Daniela Vogt Weisenhorn die vielen historischen Facetten des Tales. Es wird nichts interpretiert, sondern nur dargestellt. Aus dem Inhalt: „Das Montafon ist ein von der Ill durchflossenes 39 km langes Tal in Vorarlberg , das von der Bielerhöhe (2.000 Meter) bis Bludenz reicht. Das Tal wird im Norden von der Verwallgruppe und im Süden vom Rätikon und der Silvretta begrenzt. Im Montafon befinden sich die Gemeinden Gaschurn (mit dem Ortsteil Partenen), St. Gallenkirch (mit den Ortsteilen Gargellen und Gortipohl), Schruns, Tschagguns, Silbertal, Bartholomäberg, Vandans, und St. Anton/M. Die Gemeinden Lorüns und Stallehr werden je nach Interpretation ihrer Geschichte dem Montafon oder dem Walgau zugeordnet. Hier zeigen wir Aspekte des Tales beginnend über seine geologischen Entstehungsgeschichte bis hin zu „typischen“ Eigenschaften der Montafoner“.

From the contents: „The Montafon is a 39 km long valley in Vorarlberg, through which the Ill River flows, and which extends from the Bielerhöhe (2,000 meters) to Bludenz. The valley is bordered in the north by the Verwall Group and in the south by the Rätikon and the Silvretta. In the Montafon are the communities of Gaschurn (with the district of Partenen), St. Gallenkirch (with the districts of Gargellen and Gortipohl), Schruns, Tschagguns, Silbertal, Bartholomaeberg, Vandans, and St. Anton/M. The communities of Lorüns and Stallehr are assigned to either the Montafon or the Walgau, depending on the interpretation of their history. Here we show aspects of the valley starting with its geological history of origins and ending with „typical“ characteristics of the Montafon people“.
