Der Ustica-Anschlag
Ustica ist eine beschauliche Insel im tyrrhenischen Meer nördlich von Sizilien – die Erwähnung der Insel in einem Gespräch provoziert höchstens ein Achselzucken. Dennoch – die Insel und ein Anschlag haben eines gemeinsam: den Namen Ustica – es geht hier um ein Verbrechen, das zur Zeit des Kalten Krieges begangen wurde. Am 27. Juni 1980 startet in Bologna ein Flugzeug der Itavia (Flug 870) – Kennzeichen I-TIGI zu einem Inlandsflug nach Palermo auf Sizilien – das Flugzeug verschwindet auf Höhe der Vulkan-Insel Ustica, nördlich von Sizilien, von den Radarschirmen der italienischen Flugüberwachung [letztes Transpondersignal um 20:59]. 81 Menschen, darunter viele Kinder, fallen dem Unglück, manche behaupten dem Anschlag, zum Opfer.
Ustica is a tranquil island in the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Sicily – the mention of the island in a conversation provokes at most a shrug of the shoulders. Nevertheless, the island and an attack have one thing in common: the name Ustica – this is a crime committed during the Cold War. On 27 June 1980 an Itavia plane (flight 870) – number plate I-TIGI for a domestic flight to Palermo in Sicily – took off from Bologna on 27 June 1980 – the plane disappeared from the radar screens of the Italian air traffic control [last transponder signal at 20:59] at the level of the volcanic island Ustica, north of Sicily. 81 people, including many children, fall victim to the accident, some claim the attack.
Ustica è un'isola tranquilla nel Mar Tirreno a nord della Sicilia – la menzione dell'isola in una conversazione provoca al massimo una scollatura delle spalle. Tuttavia, l'isola e un attacco hanno una cosa in comune: il nome Ustica – questo è un crimine commesso durante la Guerra Fredda.
