VIREN – eine Gefahr für unser Nervensystem (Ulrich Treutlein)

Ein Virus ist ein winziger infektiöser Organismus – deutlich kleiner als eine Pilzspore oder ein Bakterium – der sich ausschliesslich in lebenden Zellen vermehren kann. Es heftet sich an eine Wirtszelle, dringt in sie ein und setzt seine DNS (Desoxyribonukleinsäure) oder RNS (Ribonukleinsäure) innerhalb der Zelle frei (laut MSD-Manual). Gleichzeitig nimmt unser Nervensystem die Vorgänge in unserer Umwelt wahr, verarbeitet sie und löst entsprechende Reaktionen aus.

A virus is a tiny infectious organism – significantly smaller than a fungal spore or a bacterium – that can replicate exclusively in living cells. It attaches itself to a host cell, penetrates it and releases its DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) or RNA (ribonucleic acid) inside the cell (according to the MSD manual). At the same time, our nervous system perceives the processes in our environment, processes them and triggers appropriate reactions.
