(from Boudot & al. 2009:90): Platycnemis subdilatata is endemic to the Maghreb. Aspecimen of this species detected in the ZMA [Amsterdam] collection and labelled "Canary Islands, Tenerife, Puerto de la Cruz, 28 March 1971, J.H.Stocks" refers probably to a single vagrant favoured by African winds.
Die Berber Federlibelle, Platycnemis subdilatata Selys 1849, kommt ausschliesslich im westlichen Nordafrika (Marokko, Algerien, Tunesien) häufig vor.
